Political / Civic Education

Events related to political and civic eduation are organised by FNF's regional offices in Germany, Theodor Heuss Academy and  International e-Academy.


Scholarship programme

The scholarship programme was launched in 1973 for German and foreign undergraduate and postgraduate students.


International Politics

The core instruments of the department of  International Politics is political civic education programmes, political dialogue and political consultancy.  The first international project was in 1962, Tunisia.


Liberal Archive

The Liberal Archive was officially opened in 1984, Gummersbach. The archives host an extensive collection of material tracing the history of political liberalism.


Liberal Institute

The Liberal Institute was established in 1995 as the Foundation's  think tank.  The Institute compiles studies and routinely publishes papers on current issues from a liberal perspective.


Press & Media Department

The press & media department is the public relations arm of the Foundation. It is responsible for the promotion of the value of freedom through press releases, editorials and meetings with journalists as well as organising events such as the 'Freedom Congress' and the 'Freedom Speeches'.
