The Inter Region Economic Network (IREN)– Kenya , was founded in 2001. It is an independent, non-profit, non-partisan research and educational organisation that promotes policies that will further the creation of a free society in Africa. The Network`s mission is to promote greater economic opportunities and individual liberty in Africa, with the vision of encouraging Africans to rely less on government solutions to problems they can and should solve on their own. IREN believes the human mind is capital and wants to learn from successful models all over the world in order to promote development in Africa and empower people on the lowest rungs of the economic ladder by discouraging counter-productive policies while encouraging private management of commerce.
