Senegal

The election of President Abdoulaye Wade of the Democratic Party of Senegal (PDS) in 2000 and its allies in the parliamentary elections of April 2001 has brought the Liberals to government.
 

The Foundation cooperates with political, economic and liberal oriented partners. The Foundation is very successful in Senegal through its cooperation with the Parti Démocratique Sénégalais (PDS), a longstanding partner of the Foundation, and its affiliate women and youth organisations. The collaboration with the PDS ranges from parliamentary work with the two chambers of parliament to pilot projects in decentralization of the administrative structures in Senegal.

The political work is based on the implementation of liberal values into viable policies. The Foundation supports liberal values like rule of law and market economy and through its economic partner, the Institute Supérieur de Management (ISM) the Foundation sponsors studies, research and publications around such values.
