Tanzania

tanzaniaflag.jpgThe Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty (FNF) established its office in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 1991 and progressed to become the regional office for the FNF’s work in East Africa.

The Foundation is involved with different projects: cooperating with partners to encourage a liberal and democratic civil society, providing a forum for discussing matters of national and regional interest by policy makers, and building capacity to strengthen liberal, parliamentary democracy. FNF has also been involved in providing a forum for young people to discuss matters pertaining to their future such as youth participation in governance, democracy, rule of law and human rights. To serve the cause of individual freedom the Foundation provides training for the media and other institutions while supporting private sector initiatives for development.

FNF cooperates on a medium to long term basis with its partners to ensure the sustainability of the joint activities. In collaboration with the political, economic and youth partners FNF aims to achieve this objective by organising workshops, seminars, consultations, research and publications.
